March 23, 2024 - Open 45 minutes before enjoying. Blue and black fruit up front with slightly peppery vegetal velvety finish.

March 8, 2024 - Drinking really nicely now. Cedar and tobacco aromas with dark cherry, licorice and mint. Very tasty.

August 25, 2023 - Decent wine but my worst qpr ever

February 22, 2021 - Impeccable, one should say, but I dunno how much I like it. I like it well enough I guess, but it is much more thick and ripe than I would typically want. Rich and complex nose of sweet black and blue fruits, vanilla, creme de menthe, airy tobacco, bay leaf, green flower buds, roasted red pepper, creosote.... Full-bodied and velvety on the palate, this certainly shows its alcohol, but it is not hot, and there's nicely integrated acidity to keep it from being cloying. All this said, I find it a bit over the top. Many would disagree, as this has polish and balance. Should age for a long time, but it will always be a big ripe beastie.

Surprise, surprise, I only drank less than one glass of this the other day, and then didn't touch it the next day... it's holding up beautifully after 48 hours of air, lots of airy mint and tobacco, a nice mint chocolate chip finish, fresh and clean despite its liqueur-like qualities, impressed if still not terribly enamored

November 2, 2019 - Not very inspiring but ok wine. May be better during recommended drink time of 2026 and beyond but can’t imagine 6+ years will make that much difference
