May 8, 2024 - Deep Purple hue with hints of leather, rubber, oak and cardamom. Dark berries punch though later. This is a elegant almost like a Brunello. Medium body with perfectly balanced acidity. A silky smooth profile with very well integrated tannins. The finish is lasting. A classic from Von Strasser.

July 30, 2020 - Three hour decant. Deep dark magenta color. Sour cherry (think Gobstopper candy), fresh blueberry, and peony on the nose. Very smooth, dry palate, with great acidity. Firm, full tannins on the medium long finish. Drinks way above its price point.

July 16, 2020 - Not sure what's happening with some of the low ratings for this wine. IMO, the wine is precise, balanced and possesses very nice concentration. Black raspberry, boysenberry, mocha and beautiful mineral notes are framed by juicy acidity and highly refined tannins making this a vino that is approachable now and improving over the next 7 or 8 years. At this price it cannot be beat - bravo!
