April 22, 2024 - I’m not a big fan of California Cabs but this 2016 Hess Selection exceeded my expectations. Even without a decant this wine has a pleasant nose of dark cherries, followed by medium body, almost creamy, with more dark fruit, cassis, and just enough oak. Tannins and acidity are in balance with the rest of the package. Very nice, and a good value for the price.

February 12, 2024 - Very nice at this stage. Nice complimentary flavors of red and dark fruits, leather, a little wood and some tannins. Maybe some rocks too. This wine is well integrated at this point and not too over the top.

January 22, 2024 - Very well made and tasty number. Good red fruit, with mid tannin and long finish. Its good for a few more years, but I don't think will get better.
