Community Tasting Notes 9

April 16, 2024 - Dinner with the wine group (La Bohème, Palo Alto): Light ruby, age-appropriate bricking; aromatic, mature aromas with forest floor sous bois, Asian spice, red fruited; palate is mature, red strawberry, forest floor and sous bois; medium length finish. This is fully mature, wonderful aromatics, ready to drink now for this village level wine. 91

January 15, 2019 - Three years later, this is not only as good but much better than I remember. Was a little nervous as the cork had some seepage signs but as soon as I tried it, I was relieved. It was perfect. More developed than four years ago with more soil, leather and sanguine notes. Rust comes to mind too. Yet fresh, bright and red. Beautiful bottle. Great effort.

June 21, 2015 - My last bottle of this excellent village wine. Vigorous deep colour, similar bouquet. Slightly diffuse in appearance, and chewy intensity on the palate. Intense. Slight caramel element. Lovely flavour, long and satisfying. Would probably have rewarded another 5-10 years ageing, but I will never know. A serious wine from a fine grower.

January 24, 2015 - Lovely red fruits, forest floor, and woody undertones. Supple, fresh, definitely at a great stage. Drink now till 2016.

    December 23, 2013 - Pas de réduction cette fois-ci.
Des épices et de la rose fanée au nez, bouche toujours d'une grande suavité, beaucoup de fruit (cerise, framboise) et une belle longueur.
    Vin à point.
