June 3, 2023 - full-bodied, elegant wine with a deep ruby color. The nose is dominated by black fruits, such as blackberries, plums, and currants, with hints of chocolate, coffee, and cedar. The palate is rich and complex, with flavors of black fruits, dark chocolate, tobacco, and spice. The tannins are firm but well-integrated, and the wine finishes with a long, lingering aftertaste.

April 28, 2023 - Beautiful brambly blackberry on the nose undergirded by dusty, herbaceous richness. Subtle vanilla, fresh peppers and slight ferrous minerality. Palate is fantastically lush and well integrated. Perfectly balanced acid tempers the moderate powdery tannin. Really lovely.

October 16, 2022 - Deep berry, dark fruit, great balance, rich mouth feel. Excellent. After a few days in the opened VacuVin'd bottle, deep nose of bakers chocolate, plum, prune, leather. Even better!

September 24, 2022 - Chicago Gourmet Grand Cru (Harris Theater - Chicago IL): Walk around tasting. Meritage. Rich, powerful and very well rounded. Close to reaching its drinking window. Very good balance, good+ length. Worth seeking out.
