June 25, 2021 - Deep garnet in color. Nose is primarily leather. Not surprising. A hint of red cherry behind it. Palate is still nice acid but mainly the leather, dust and sour cherry on the back with wood on the finish. Still alive, but on life support.

May 1, 2021 - Nose: Plum, cedar, mint and leather. Palate: Middle bodied at this point. A wine that leads with gorgeous acidity that helps the fruit, herb and cocoa notes pop. Decent vigor remains here with good dark plum, berry, soil and herb notes.

Beautiful amethyst color with translucent edges and slight bricking. Served for a family dinner with burgers. From magnum.

January 21, 2019 - Good again, enduring quite well.

November 12, 2018 - Lightly stained cork and a fill into the neck, the color is deep still and there's plenty of intact fruit. Kind of chocolatey/fudgey, with some black plum, a tiny bit of cedary greenness, and shockingly high acidity. An excellent pair for rosemary braised beef over homemade tagliatelle.

October 17, 2014 - I bought it for close to nothing so the expectations were quite low but what a surprise! The long cork came out in one piece quite easily and the wine revealed underneath was surprisingly youthful in color. Unmistakable Napa fruit but the wine has super fresh acidity which settled down with a bit of air. Cassis, raspberry and leather on a suede palate. Got better with air and was loved by everyone at the table. Wish I got to spend more time with it! A treat!
