February 16, 2022 - Funky nose of minerality! Translucent ruby red in colour, strong mineral palate, a hint of dark, leathery fruits! Smooth but a bit dull!

April 28, 2019 - Perfectly mature with nowhere else to go. This beauty is at peak and definitely a clean snippet of the Grand Vin, which was hugely successful in 1996. Probably the year that put it on the map as a collector wine. The wine was garnet with a thick body, showing tremendous viscosity and balance, in an aged mild manner. Shy nose, with decent appeal of graphite, earth, sweet red fruit, cedar...Nice, long, dry punctuating finish..very good. DRINK

January 31, 2016 - Definitely softened up but drinking fine - did not let it sit long and still was very smooth - no funky notes, just a bit lighter than preferred

November 1, 2015 - Nose is acidic - has lost its bounce, but is certainly drinkable. Probably peaked a few years ago

April 3, 2013 - Beautifully balanced, fruit, silky tannins, smoke and touch of vanilla. It's aged very well. Wish I bought a case instead of just 2 bottles.

(Château Ducru-Beaucaillou Croix de Beaucaillou) Spice box nose; elegant fruit, with a hint of coffee and vanilla leading to a nice medium finish
