November 6, 2022 - A treat to try this wine, perhaps the most ready for consumption in our tasting of over 15 Rhone wines. To me, this had quite a lot of green peppercorn, pyrazine, red cherry fruit, was a little hollow on the midpalate but otherwise quite characterful. I understand Guillaume Gilles is making these now.

November 5, 2022 - Rhone Birthday 2022; 11/4/2022-11/6/2022: This was fantastic with a explosive black pepper and grilled meat nose and bright refreshing palate. Not too heavy. In a great spot.

December 26, 2021 - The nose definitely shows off the cooler vintage here; this is smoke and tapenade with maybe even just a hint of pyrazine. There's sweet red fruit on the palate and maybe some leathery notes as well. Clearly a bit of stemminess going on too. More Côte-Rôtie than Cornas until the finish, where you run into a huge wall of tannins. As expected with the vintage, this is a lighter wine more driven by acidity than anything else.

February 11, 2020 - Top-drawer Cornas. It reminded me quite a bit of an '04 Allemand Chaillots recently tasted at an Allemand-centered dinner (this wine is 100% relatively old-vine Chaillots). I brought the '96 Cuchet-Beliando that night, and it was lovely, but this would have been a better competitor. Calm, cool and collected upon opening, this blossomed in the glass to show increasingly wild animale and vegetal scents. Outstanding pairing with Keen's porterhouse.

February 10, 2020 - Just great. This starts off with dark fruits, salty minerals and crushed rocks. This is bright, potent and wicked. Great precision and tons of flavor. Grippy acid and tight tannins. This opens well with time and a big olive briny component comes out. with more time we get a more feral note - very animal. This is classic. Thanks Zak! Nose - 5.5/6, Palate - 5.5/6, Finish - 5/6, Je ne Sais Quoi - 1.5/2 = 17.5/20.

September 7, 2018 - This wine was amazing. Rich fruit, smooth but big tannins, lush, mouth-filling and lithe. One of the greatest wines I have ever enjoyed. Feminine, simply beautiful. Old style Cornas the way it is supposed to be.

    January 6, 2018 - A FassSelection wine.
It’s my first Cornas and I am glad I tried it.
This wine has character that comes forward the instant the wine hits your palate. Strikes me as a wine you want to let develop in the bottle for quite some time — I am having a 2008 in 2018 and that’s about right. I would think this will last easily another 5-10 years and continue to evolve.
I would decant or let breathe for 1-2 hours.

    I am quite impressed.
