Community Tasting Notes 2

February 22, 2018 - This straw-colored Chardonnay was vinified and aged for nine months in French oak (50% new). It offers aromas of citrus, pear, honeysuckle and vanilla that are followed by similar flavors on a medium-bodied palate. Low-to-medium in acidity, seamlessly alcoholic and with a mineral-driven middle, it finishes long but lingers mostly with a wood element. This wine would have been better with less oak exposure and perhaps some restriction of malolactic fermentation, as it lacks the freshness of better bottlings. Drink now-2023.

    July 7, 2017 - Mid golden.

Lemon and apple on the nose. Honey With toasted spicy note.

Pallet is Rich, round and complex although young and primary. Medium body.

Fruit, butter and hazel. Surprisingly accessible considering vintage. Acid is in decent balance, very much lactic rather than malic, maybe lacking a little zip.

Good village Meursault character, unmistakeable. Maybe a little one dimensional, but for €27 from the Cave, bang on!
