Community Tasting Notes 35

February 7, 2024 - Dark purple/black color. Intense aromas of blueberry, vanilla, smoky bacon fat and caramel. The bold palate is quite complex. Flavors of blue/black berry fruit, dark chocolate, maple, ripe plums, black pepper and coffee. Rich and plush. Mouth coating texture. Long finish and chewy tannins. Ultra full bodied and quite expressive. Works well with grilled meat.

December 11, 2022 - Pretty good, but has not developed over time as we'd hoped. Heavy on the alcohol inducing a rare hangover for not that much consumed. Our tastes have matured to where we don't appreciate the warm weather heavy on alcohol and fruit Syrah/Shiraz, which this is.

November 23, 2021 - One of the better Australian Shiraz we have had in years. Drinking well now and don't see long-term aging. A robust and fruity wine with strong licorice and black fruit notes. 16.0% alcohol puts this on the edge of being an alcohol-bomb, but we came away with the impression this was so well-balanced and integrated that we couldn't classify it as an alcohol or fruit bomb, but it did edge a bit towards that.
We thought this was a lot like Michael-David's Inkblot line, notably their Petit Verdot. This is not for the faint of heart, but the best part is it was wonderful with chocolate after-dinner. This is best paired with something hearty, maybe a grilled filet w blue cheese drizzle.

October 21, 2021 - PNP. Fine quality for the style, just not for me. Blueberry candy, vanilla milkshake. 16.5% ABV.

July 7, 2020 - love it. Thick and rich straight down the middle of the massive fairway
