Community Tasting Notes 8

  • MrOctoberfest Does not like this wine:

October 11, 2022 - This is a putrid stew of bacteria, hatred and incompetence. Tastes like how your xenophobic uncle sounds at Thanksgiving but with even more repulsive flavors. I think this wine might actually be racist.

It smells like dirty feet and tastes about the same. There is plenty of brett in the form of mousiness in the finish.

The biggest question for me is, does this wine suck so bad because it is “natural” or because it is a Jura red? It’s hard for me to say, as I’ve never had an example of either that didn’t taste like feces.

    February 1, 2022 - Dear Jura Reds:

Let’s break up. It’s not me; it’s you. While I have, on occasion, enjoyed your presence, most of the time you just annoy me. Perhaps some won’t be offended by your cavalier hygiene, but I am repulsed. I think that your grapes don’t reach physiological ripeness in your mountain air, and it creates wines completely lacking in charm. Let the Burgundians do Pinot Noir and reevaluate your life choices. Trousseau doesn’t suck when the Portuguese make it, and Poulsard is just a grape with a very low ceiling.

    PS:

I’m still going to see your younger sister, clean Jura whites, on occasion, so please make yourself scarce when I come around.

August 16, 2019 - I continue to really enjoy working through this case. Lovely, slightly sour, as it should be. A nice summertime wine that stands up to beef.

January 2, 2019 - Very light and nice and low with alcohol at 11/5%. A little dry and lacking and fruit.

April 23, 2018 - Toujours un excellent choix , la framboise éclate , petite notes poivrées et de fraises des bois la bouteille c'est sifflé en 15 minute ! à 4
