April 21, 2024 - Rather like my last TN of 2018. 13%abv. Level into neck. Cork broke but came out easily. Quite a lot of sediment. Classic and lovely aged Bordeaux nose, though more of the churches and leather than cigar & pencil type. Some red fruit - cranberry? The palate is similar, though definitely savoury, staying the right side of austere. No 1990 plushness here. A touch of spice (allspice?) in the finish added interest. Held up well over 2-3 hours. Not a grand or big scoring sort of wine but a delightful one nevertheless.

March 22, 2024 - Cork was in tact and solid, likely a well-stored wine. Nose is dark and subdued but there is still a hint of black fruits over the charred earth, smoked pepper, gravel and graphite notes. Lots of pyrazines here but not in a bad way. Palate is fresh (for a 34-year old wine) with black cherry, mashed plums, mint, almost floral notes like violets. Good acidity, tannins resolved, light body, surprisingly long finish. It feels like it is about to start losing the nice balance it has and now is the time to drink it but right now it’s pretty great.

September 3, 2022 - Drinking well with a few prime years left. Black fruit with some red fruit undertones. Nice clean mouthful.

August 31, 2021 - Smokey, truffles and earthy on the nose. Not much fruit left. Starting its decent but has a few years left
