February 27, 2023 - In der Nase reife dunkle Beeren, trotzdem mit (ebenfalls reifen) Stielen und Stengeln, Cassis, sehr feinem Paprikapulver, feinem Tabak und recht viel Fleischsaft.
Am Gaumen hat das sehr viel Tannin, das ist aber für mich geradeso fein genug, um den Wein „elegant“ zu nennen. Insgesamt dadurch sehr guter Gerbstoff-Griff, in Kombination mit sehr saftiger, animierender Säure. Immer noch eine Spur grün, vielleicht wird der Wein auch nie reifer.
Komplex, tief und lang, das ist schon durchaus besonders. Der Rosso du Montalcino aus gleichem Jahr vom gleichen Hersteller hat mich nochmal mehr abgeholt, vermutlich setzt sich hier doch etwas das nicht ganz so große Jahr durch. Das ist aber Jammern auf sehr hohem Niveau, die Flasche hat extrem viel Spaß gemacht. -

January 6, 2023 - Very nice Bordeaux blend from Tuscany. Needed a day open to fully blossom but was beautiful after that. Ripe fruit (more dark blue than red), nicely integrated oak, wonderful acidity. Good stuff.

May 31, 2020 - Had an edge over the 2013 for the sheer weightless, gliding scale of it all. Deep, texturally magnificent. I can't recall any particulars that Andrea shared with me re: this particular vintage. I do recall being spellbound though. The oak integration is sublime. Drink over the coming decade. Better after 1 hr open. highly recommended
