March 10, 2024 - Tasty, rustic, raspberry and a bit of pepper. Alcohol distracts some but not much. A really good if not great zin.....which is more/less what I get from Rossi Ranch almost every time, no matter who the producer is.

January 23, 2024 - It’s on the lighter side of Zinfandel, maybe due to the field blend.
I always find Carlisle’s Zinfandels a great pairing with Indian food - tonight we had Chicken Curry with Golden Saffron Rice. So glu glu

November 25, 2023 - Deep ruby color. Blackberries and black cherries with hints of spice and herbalness in the nose. Concentrated dark fruits in the flavor. Drinking very well right now, an elegant zinfandel with nice acidity, medium-bodied, well balanced and a medium length silky finish.

October 2, 2023 - Tasted far too much of alcohol so as to obscure the fruit. To bad it wasn't like the first bottle we drank last year.

February 27, 2023 - his was very enjoyable – massive ripe blueberry/blackberry on the nose which was balanced out with some orangepeel/herbal, higher-pitched/lifted character. On the palate dense and concentrated berries, almost liqueur-like; dusting of spices; balanced acidity sufficient to lift the very lush fruit and avoid flab; quite silky, elegant texture (surprising given the powerful ripe fruit and high alc content), with mild, dusty tannins.

Only gripe is a bit of alcohol heat - not the most covert ~15.5% wine I’ve ever had! For what it’s worth, many notes I’ve looked at emphasize a red-fruit character that I am not really picking up on here.
