Community Tasting Notes 5

    February 20, 2019 - Medium/light gold - crystal clear
Medium(+) aromas of apples/ yellow flowers and honey - beautiful
Medium palate of light citrus and apples - very mineral, like licking wet rock
A little unbalanced due to what appears to me to be high alcohol
Medium(+) to high acidity and nice length
This wine has beautiful aromas of classic Chenin Blanc but palate a little unbalanced at this stage
I think there is great potential here and would love to try this with about five more yrs of age

    February 20, 2019 - Single blind tasting
    Clear light gold color
Medium + aromatics of soft honey with slight oxidative note.
Palate of medium ++ acidity. Tart yellow apples with prominent minerality and increased alcohol.
    Round and somewhat soft mouthfeel
Hoped for more honey, but still nice for a young Savennieres.
Would recommend waiting about 4-5 years on opening your bottle.
Probably the most impressive wine label I've come across

June 7, 2018 - From memory, at Lindey’s with seared seabass and with chicken chopped salad. Full-bodied but light in texture, totally dry with white pommes and underripe stone fruit, some citrus, lots of rocks and clean dirt. Compared with Joly’s Coulee, similar profile without the oiliness and occasional botrytis, easier to like with slighly less intrigue.

March 18, 2018 - Really hefty, with a big river stones. While I love the expressiveness of the wine, I’m more than a little off put with the barrique, which comes on needlessly assertively in the finish.

November 23, 2017 - Another TG wine. Pungent tart grapefruit, orange peel, lemon and minerality. A dryer version of Chenin. Very intriguing but I'm probably just as happy with my "go to", almost half the price, $16 Marc Bredif Vouvray.
