Community Tasting Notes 3

    October 19, 2019 - Autumn Tasting (San Diego Wine Co.): WAY too cold

    Supposedly 57 g/L R.S.? 8.0 ABV listed on the bottle;

    N: Closed; Petrol with undertones of apricots, poss peaches?

    P: Med body; Very RNDISH entry with NICE, SWTISH frt offset by an acidity which at least, for a while, builds as it evolves into a LONG, TANGY/swt finish with HINTS of a very, VERY slight bitterness. POSS *needs* > time? As for right now, I'm doubting it's "together" enough for entrees. IF that resolves, my VG+ (88,89/100 using that metric) *will* be low. 90 pts Mosel Fine Wines (6/1/17). [This vendor's $18.99 would APPEAR to be VERY competitive. (Wine-searcher's entries tend to list the #s 1 or 2 with their quotes, & since I could find NO #s on the bottle from which I tasted...)]

    December 10, 2018 - Palest lemon colour, plentiful spritz in the glass. A rather light, creamy nose with a faint core of fruit and a whiff of musky complexity. The taste is also very light, not at all what I was expecting, with weak acidity and sugary green grape and apple fruit. Rather dilute. I don't know what's going on here, it should be full of life but instead is just a shadow of what good German riesling can be. Clean and thirst-quenching, but at this price I expect far more, and you'd get more oomph from basic Liebfraumilch. What a shame. [Natural cork; 8% abv; Woodwinters, £20.50].

    October 14, 2017 - The German Crush Tour; 10/8/2017-10/16/2017: sweet white peach, hint of minerality, light and bright in comparison - but also softer, rounder edges. excellent balance.
