November 16, 2023 - This a perfect example of the St. Emilon Bordeaux. With a smoother overall flavor but strong body and structure, great finish. Great value, excellent with lollipop lamb. Left the bottle open overnight and it was great.

July 5, 2023 - Rustic doesn’t quite do it justice — the nose is full-on farm-life bucolia. Brettanomycyes galore. Problematically, I enjoy a bit of Brett so I don’t find the aroma off putting, though it may turn off folks as it seems to accentuate barnyard notes.
With that disclaimer, nose leads with savory game, hay, black tea, mushroom and spiced, leaf litter notes. Fruit is secondary but reads as dried black currant with added menthol and garrigue aromas.
Structure on the palate is solidly constructed if slightly over tannic — tannins still feel quite green surprisingly and boisterous, but tempered by good acidity. I think it can be enjoyable and poised to accentuate a meal given the right pairing and consumers not opposed to Brett1 person found this helpful Comment -
