March 24, 2024 - Drank very well. Balanced.
Hints of garnet in the dark purple appearance.
Developing aromas of black currant, spice, leather, fig, blackberry, cocoa.
Dry wine, high alcohol, high tannins that have smoothed out, med+ acidity, med+ flavor intensity, long finish.
Flavors on the palate similar to aromas with more pronounced fig, dried fruit characteristics.
Excellent wine. Wine could still age longer but maybe just another 3-5 years?

November 6, 2022 - Huge nose of baked blueberries, dark chocolate, cassis, brambles licorice, tobacco and turned earth. Also some bourbon and vanilla. This is a rich and powerful wine with polished fruit and glossy oak but still earthy. Full bodied, just enough acid and tannin. A rich, layered, oak driven finish. A well made, complex wine just a bit too much oak for me right now. It was my only bottle but I wish I opened it at 15 years old.

August 14, 2022 - 2 hr decant, opaque purple. Beautiful nose of exotic spices, roasted dark fruits, slightly toasted vanilla and plums. Lush, silky smooth palate brings notes of licorice, soft leather, slate and chocolate. Quite full-bodied but light on its feet. Buoyed by juicy acidity and ripe tannins on a fantastic long finish.
73% Cabernet Sauv. Rest Malbec/Merlot from Happy Canyon Santa Barbara. Melka/Rolland winemakers.
