December 18, 2022 - First time trying this producer. Very nice bottle, drunk with the expectation that it is still evolving. The color is a whole shade lighter than expected, even for just a six year wine - medium translucent straw yellow. The nose was quite wonderful and typical for the region: stone fruit, petrol, lemon zest, everything nicely placed and backed by some still strong acidity that held everything together. But the depth of flavors was just average, especially considering we drank it over two nights - I was expecting it to evolve a bit more. Not being familiar with Kruger-Rumpf (but knowing riesling well), I checked the website and they claim that indeed the wine is made in a style that should evolve over the course of an evening - but I'm not sure I got that. It's very reasonably priced, so I wasn't expecting a blockbuster, but it is a GG so I always hold those to a high standard. It's nicely made and will not disappoint - it's just not an elite wine at this point.

September 25, 2021 - Another lovely btl, maybe a touch more petrol than previous showings, but otherwise very consistent with previous notes. Excellent.

July 22, 2020 - Pop and pour. Yum! Paired perfectly with our vegetable stew. On the nose: lemon, lime, a soft touch of yeast, loads of limestone and crushed rock. On the palate, fantastic acidity, more lime, lime oil, salt, fantastic density and just a lovely intense finish.

October 9, 2019 - Reduced sulfur and petrol initially, opens with air into lactic and lees driven tones with fresh apples and lemon. Malo here. Interesting though perhaps unexpected

September 5, 2019 - Yum. Amazing acidity, grapefruit, ripe guava, some herbs. On the palate, great acidity, grapefruit, more guava, lime. So high-toned, and a lovely clean finish.
