September 3, 2020 - Very clean, lemon-inflected, palate-cleansing, zingy white wine with ample stuffing, pining for rich or spicy fowl or fish. The 2016 has taut acidity and a depth of summer fruit with hints of Mediterranean garrigue, adding to its ability to partner a range of herb and citrus accented fare. The low alcohol is a refreshing plus in hot and humid weather. 90+

January 8, 2019 - Much better than the big 2015. I taste a Cotes du Rhone Blanc here, not a Rhone Ranger. If California is expressed at all it is in the utter purity of the wine and its fruit -- honestly, the best of both worlds. This Clairette elevates food or can be enjoyed solo. Delicious, refreshing, delicately infused with lemon and fennel and mineral salt.
I see a bright future for Clairette in Paso Robles. It occupies an unfilled niche, either a sipper or a dinner wine equal in interest to any Sauvignon Blanc or Chardonnay, but with a clean mineral character and without the blousy unfocused fruit of many California white varietals. With Grenache Blanc and Vermentino, Tablas Creek now renders us a trio of racy, multipurpose, and bracing whites no one could have imagined 20 years ago.2 people found this helpful Comment -

August 28, 2018 - Sight: A little cloudy, light in color relatively slow legs
Nose: White flowers, lemon, and tropical fruits
Taste: High acid, citrus, no oak
We had this after dinner without food. She liked it more than I, but she likes high-acid wine more than I do. I think it would be better with food, or under warmer conditions. Overall, it is easy drinking, crisp, and pleasant.2 people found this helpful Comment -

March 18, 2018 - Decanted 3/4 hr. After the first glass, the nose opened up with nice floral aromas. Tastes varied some from apple/pear tastes to ripe stone fruits to more mineral. All were enjoyable. Should also be a good summer drink.

January 27, 2018 - Open for 15 hours. Light-medium yellow. Delicate citrus fruit nose. As with so many Tablas wines, the vibrancy of the fruit is somewhat surprising given the delicacy of the aromas. This one is no exception. Packs a big, bright fruit punch, but is also taut, dry and even a tad steely. This should go good with my linguine and clams tonight. 4-11-16-7: 88/100.
