  October 7, 2022 - Another out of .375. All have seemed oddly aged. Not bad, but just surprising. Notes of plum and maybe even stewed fruits, it comes across as more right bank than CA. The sweet oak finish give it away, but makes me wonder if it's the wine, of just my bottles.

  February 20, 2022 - Color of dark red. Scents of mulled red fruit with toasted vanilla. Tastes were consistent with scents. As this has aged, it’s clear that the fruit is becoming more one-note and the oak/vanilla has become much more primary (overpowering the fruit). I won’t hold my other vintages of Blackbird Arise this long before drinking.

  March 12, 2020 - Plum, blackberry and a touch of bell pepper on the nose. Nicely integrated on the palate, with a smooth finish.

  August 18, 2019 - Dark and fruity. it is fruit forward in a good way, with some tannin for balance but overall not to my liking because it lacks balance. High quality, no doubt, but it is all primary flavors of plum, oak and cassis. I
