December 21, 2023 - Holiday Champagne Gala (Wilmette Harbor Club): Tasted at gala dinner. This far exceeded my expectations, given my experience with this wine and 2005s being generally so brooding and backward. This was fun and fleshy with rich, lush fruit in harmony with its obvious structure. Already very good.

January 29, 2023 - Ruby color to rim with vibrant, dust-inflected cherry-kirsch, blackberry and licorice aromas. Palate initially is light with alcohol and acid predominating but after about 45 minutes, demonstrates much more balance with spice and cherry flavors. Drinking quite nicely at his point.

September 18, 2022 - This bottle even better than the last. Voluptuous and delicious. Velvety mouthfeel and 60 second finish. This has a long life ahead of it but irresistible right now. Classic "iron fist in a velvet glove" GC profile.

September 17, 2022 - Very good wine punches above its weight for Jadot. Wonderful nose of spice, dark fruit, and some earthiness. Nobody can figure out if 2005 is ready yet … this wine can be drunk with decanting or can wait for years more. On the palate… good spicy licorice, star anise, plum, but also some bitter fruit like blackberry.
