June 28, 2022 - Opened with some nice citrus and acid, but seemed to fade a bit quickly. Some nougat and developed notes but seemed a bit muted.

Objectively not bad, but disappointing given the pedigree. If I was handed a glass and told "this is one of Australia’s top Chardonnays" I'd respond "really, this is the best they've got?"

January 22, 2022 - A beautiful wine that prob has a few years left in the tank. Citrus notes, tropical and fruit w/ medium length turned into grapefruit pith, more tropical fruits, nougat and butterscotch notes and lots of length

July 9, 2020 - at a 'last supper' before covid lockdown round 2. this was the opening wine alone with a 2015 Rockford Riesling before a themed brace of old matching vintages of Rockford Basket Press shiraz versus Cabernet. The Mount Mary Chardonnay is always a pleasure to drink, personally i think its underrated in their portfolio and against its industry peers. Here at 15 year of age it was drinking superbly. With a gentle honeyed pineapple secondary character edging through the balanced tannin and acidity, it provided a lush rich long mouthfeel with superb sweetness. nothing oxidative, nothing drying. just a lovely drink and superb with opening dishes of Scallops and Prawns. well worth seeking out

October 30, 2018 - A big Chardonnay that’s ripe for the picking. More Mersault than Chablis, this beauty is chock full of white peach and nectarine, honeysuckle a touch of flintiness and an aniseed note. Perhaps some barrel-derived tannin too, but subtle. Citrus tones from early tastings of this vintage have mostly receded with some grapefruit pith persisting. Bold and round on the palate but enough acidity to keep everything in check. I like it. Drink now, but it’s not about to fall off a cliff.
