Single piece cork,no sign of seepage.

N: very ripe strawberry and violet and almost a suggestion of eucalyptus. Blind there isn’t a high probability i would guess Germany, though the varietal character is obvious.

Palate is polished, plush, if bordering on overripeness. Some bitterness comes out as it warms up.

Enjoyable. Drink or hold short term.

August 6, 2017 - Dinner by Chef Markus Krietsch (Weindorf Kirchheim): From Magnum. 2016 released from Winery. PnP. Good Pinot with a surprisingly good and vivid acidity, given the very warm vintage. Very young, needs lots of air. Lacks a bit the complexity and depth of the higher level Grand Crus of Huber. This particular bottle certainly could have aged and improved for at least 5+ years.

June 4, 2017 - my second bottle. Liked the regular Malterdinger entry wine 2012 little better

December 24, 2016 - Along tasted with with French Magnien Chambolle-Musigny 1er Cru Les Sentiers, both the same price. This Spätburgunder is more on the citrus side. Longer, and more volume than the Burgundy and, potential for improvement with more cellar time. This is the more interesting wine to watch going forward. 91p for now.

March 27, 2015 - The bottle was purchased in summer 2015, until then it had been in the cellar of the winery. Very charming wine, with light body, decent fruit and excellent secondary aromas. Even though we´ve drank a bottle of Fürst Centgrafenberg Reserve from the same year before it stood its ground. Very well!
