  February 25, 2014 - Intense black cherry color with deep purple hue, almost completely opaque. Very intense nose of smoke, ripe dark berries, succulent plums, some bell peppery pyrazine character and a little bit of oaky chili chocolate. The bell pepper character grows in intensity as the wine opens up in the glass. The wine is soft, full-bodied and hot on the palate with flavors of very ripe dark fruit, alcohol heat, some bell pepper and a little bit of milk chocolate. There is pretty little in the way of the structure, as the very slightly grippy tannins are light and the acidity is modest-to-medium. The finish is ripe, warm and sweet with flavors of almost overripe plums, borderline jammy blackberries, some sweet red cherries and a little bit of chocolate oak. The acidity feels a bit more noticeable in the aftertaste than on the midpalate.
  
  A very typical i.e. generic i.e. boring Chilean Carménère. The fruit is too ripe and sweet, the alcohol is too noticeable and the oak is just too much. No balance, no character, no value. Definitely not a wine for my taste, but then again, so very few Chilean Carménère wines are. Poor value at 11,48€.
