July 25, 2016 - I opened this wine fearing that a Cote du Rhone 11 years old might have been kept too long, but was won over by a taste that proved to be surprisingly delightful. Darkly colored, followed by fresh fruit aromas of cherry and raspberry. A sip that is juicy, bright, and fruity, with rounded acidity and tannin that remains supportive. Superb by itself and delicious with food. The swallow gently glides down the throat and endures for minutes. A superb value.

July 16, 2011 - Has softened considerably. Nose was jammy raspberries and strawberries. Palate was thin with the same jammy red fruit and no tannins. Enjoyable, but no longer any power or structure

November 4, 2010 - Ruby color - fairly translucent. Thin medium legs. VERY little nose - subtle to say the least. Light on the palate as well. Mixed berry fruit. Still tasty, but definitely over the hill.

September 29, 2010 - This wine is surprisingly great considering I was assuming it was past it's prime. In the glass the color is outstandingly attractive plum/blood red; excellent legs too. That transitions to a peppery nose and on the pallette the wine starts out extremely dry with lots and lots of sour plum and spice it rounds to a dry, chewey, earthy mix that thickens your tongue in your mouth. Surprisingly excellent! I pared this with a garlicly, spicey spegehtti and meat sauce and it was a great combination for a wonderfully enjoyable weeknight dinner. Now I just need to figure out what to serve with the other bottle I have...
