July 22, 2019 - somewhere between a rose and a heavier orange wine - apricots, spice, oolong, complex and interesting - needs food
didn't have much time with this, but it gained considerable depth by night 2 -

May 2, 2019 - Spätburgunder Dinner (The Wolf, Oakland): Haunting spacious watery mineral bouquet with hints of peppermint.
Palate on its own is bipolar -- acidic/ then too ripe sweet. Great food wine though: think prosciutto, blackened fish, or a light spring risotto. -

April 27, 2019 - Yum! I was shocked by the fact this was 13.5% abv, but a very enjoyable orange wine. Lovely nose with red fruited aromatics, but a density that gives this almost a rhone whitel like character. However, excellent acidity to keep this from coming off as flabby. You could drink this anywhere.

August 16, 2018 - Popped and poured, lovely hue of golden saffron with a hint of salmon. Lively aromas of ripe apple, honeyed peach, lime zest, toasted coriander seed & subtle florals. Moderate body, deceptively concentrated. Silky-smooth palate shows a mélange of somewhat indiscernible, completely delicious fruits (almost akin to "fruit cocktail") while an intriguing herbaceous note adds complexity...and although this shows a touch of the bitter quality which is encountered in skin-contact whites, it merely accents the crescendo rather than dominating -- all-in-all, just an outstanding wine for the style.
Edit to add: Wow, this just keeps getting better with air -- psychedelics in a glass!1 person found this helpful Comment -

July 24, 2018 - Compared to previous bottles this tasted less of strawberry and citrus and more of stone fruit, fudge and grass. One thing to notice about this vintage is the 13.5% abv which makes this work better with food rather than being a quaffable aperitif.
