Community Tasting Notes 8

March 7, 2021 - 100% Cabernet Sauvignon from Dionysus Vineyard aged in 60% New French oak for 22 months.
Decanted- Opaque crimson with purple-black hues reveal the crazy extraction level.
Once in the glass and opened up scents reveal pencil shavings, cigar box, mocha, suede, Maduro tobacco, sage and cassis that weave into notes of deep plum, dark cherry compote, toast, scorched earth and lighter hints of vanilla, spice and violets with the warming presence of the alcohol.
Bold and hedonistic on the palate. Built with suave tannins, moderate acids and full throttle alcohol with a creamy mid-palate. Rich, decadent flavors show off notes of cassis, black plum, dark cherry, vanilla crème, balsamic, mocha, toast, spice, herbs, candied violets, tobacco, pencil shavings, scorched earth and graphite with notes of leather that finish with a velvet touch and warmth from the abv.

    A massive and opulent style

April 16, 2020 - Bouquet of dark fruit, blackberry and plum, & a light bit of leather. Across the palate is heavy to fruit, plums and figs. The finish gets spicy then adds a bit of chocolate but is subtle due to fairly strong tannins.

June 7, 2019 - Revisiting Washington (Woodinville): Another jump to up in the intensity scale. This is again on the overdone side of things. Lots of fruit. Lots of ripe. Lower acid. Just too much for me.

March 25, 2019 - Made in the crowd pleasing style, and by that standard, a rock solid wine.

January 11, 2019 - Consistent with previous note. This screams Dionysius fruit, ripe purple fruit, fig, and haystack. Drinking well now, and for the next few years.
