November 11, 2018 - Solid Aglianico. Decanted 1.5 hours. Dark cranberry body. Nose is old world, exhibiting boxwood, cherries, and dust. Tart and dry cherries and leather on palate; very smooth. No secondary flavors yet but hopeful 4+ hours will allow some blue and black fruit to show through. Decent finish with spices, black pepper, and lingering tannins.
Got a little better on 2nd night. Exhibiting more cherry and leather; cote de castillon-like. -

Tasted non blind.
Garnet color in the glass, clear looking throughout. Nose of dust, pepper and black berries. Flavors of red berries and red raspberries. Medium acidity, medium tannin, full bodied. Drink now with air or continue to hold.1 person found this helpful Comment -
