February 18, 2023 - A private dinner (Restaurant Taiko, Amsterdam, NL): Decanted at 7pm, served at 8.30pm. Two bottles with identical impressions. Initially discreet on the nose, needs time to open up. Concentrated and luxurious palate, and the considerable weight (14.5% ABV) is balanced by marvellous acidity which gives this big wine a sense of lightness, complex fruit flavours (citrus, peach, tropical fruit), deep minerality, excellent length. Great now, great future.

February 8, 2023 - Monthly Tasting Group HWS; Beaucastel Chateauneuf du Pape (By VD and @ VD): Beautiful and complex bouquet with white and yellow fruits, some fennel, honey and some mineral impressions. Same on the palate, litchi, sage, honey and almonds. Very intense, full bodied and complex wine with probably a long future ahead.
