Community Tasting Notes 10

January 24, 2023 - Nothing that makes this wine a standout for the moderately high price. Tannins were balanced with the fruit, but nothing more to differentiate this wine from 1000’s of others

December 19, 2020 - Bordeaux style red from the Columbia Valley; nothing to distinguish this wine which is a Bordeaux "wanna-be". Value (quality & price) low. Alexana should stick to Willamette Valley Pinots which are their strong suit.

April 21, 2019 - At six years, this wine was almost perfect. Will be ready in 3-5 years. ABV was 13.5 with perfect balance of fruit and tannins; we served this at my monthly wine tasting group and it outshined several 2010 second growth Bordeaux.

June 18, 2018 - Just a little unbalanced, more acid than fruit not by a bunch but enough to keep this bottle from being a 90 or 91. Dark berry and plum fruit, pleasant medium tannins, earth and a long finish. 2013 in Oregon was, to me, a questionable vintage. Normal Oregon weather and rain that came in during harvest making some wines good and some a little more questionable.

March 24, 2017 - Really good wine from open to finish. A bolder type Pinot with raspberry notes, beautiful color some hints of anise, toast, jam.
