December 23, 2014 - An austere wine that needs to be aerated and drank with food at this stage. Compared to last year it is on the way down from peaking. Full bodied and subdued black fruits and finishes with dry chewy tannins. Food helps soften the tannic effect and brings a bit of the fruit out. It does have a solid structure. With food 88 without food 85. I found a significant difference.

April 27, 2013 - Age has really improved this wine. It is now smooth and much more approachable. See my note from 2010. Alcohol was still too dominant then but now it is quite balanced and makes for a good full bodied drinker.
