I've been immersed in SA wines recently, and this one is not remarkable--staying with notable for its durability and adequacy. This is from Swartland which, I'm told by Cape cognoscenti, is currently trendy but overrated. This is my only example from the area so I have no evidence to the contrary. I've had much better non-Swartland SA CB for the money recently but doubt that any of it will make to North America--pity.

  September 25, 2018 - Bought from Wine Library last spring as a Cinderella "super value white 2-pack" along with a bottle of '16 Maculan Pinot & Toi for 17/pack; I bought 3 packs. I would impute a price of 9.50/b for this bottle and 7.50 for the Maculan. Pale straw color with green tinge, modest nose, grassy with very good mouthfeel. I use a 4-category scale (perhaps with +/-)--not including flawed--which runs outstanding/notable/drinkable/poor. I considered this notable when considering quality, age, and price but consider that conditional; I'll try again without food or with more complementary food.
