June 4, 2018 - NobleRottersSydney - Vintage Night 2008 (360 Bar & Dining, Sydney): {500ml, cork, 7%, AP 12 16} [Graeme] At just 7%, this barely scrapes into the definition of wine at all. A novelty buy in Germany at ~€30. Huxelrebe isn’t a common variety around these party, being a German-propagated variety dating from 1927 apparantely.Has a honey-tinged, but otherwise almost pure grape-juice nose. Maybe shows a little dried apricot. The palate seems barely-fermented, with aromas of peach and pear. Lavish and sweet; perhaps predictably low in acid, but it’s so rich and captivating it hardly matters. Medium-sweet, with a medium-long finish. Best when fairly young I should think.
