  January 1, 2022 - I couldn't agree more with Gargantua's previous note (and a lovely note it is!). Salty, sticky, toffee and lots of golden dried fruits. Madeirised is a word so commonly used to describe other wines, but everything wraps up in the bottle to embody that combination of sweet, salty, and savoury so beautifully. I actually enjoyed this more with cheese than with pudding.

  November 20, 2021 - Salty, salty toffee is the dominant theme, with a generous motor of acidity carrying your palate through candied orange rind and sugar-crusted dates on the midpalate and finish, leading up to the classic madeira-style, 'beach campfire drying wood finish' that comingles with the salinity to keep you coming back through the waves of sugar. What a great find; so thankful Haus Alpenz nabbed all of this remaining stock!

  May 8, 2021 - Where has this been all my life? An insane value for just $36. Very red-fruited, with ripe plums and cooked raspberry notes layered on top of an intensely nutty, caramel base. Lovely. Easily won out over a 20 tawny it was tasted with.
