  February 11, 2024 - Nose: rose, strawberry, cherry, spices, red fruits, smoke, truffles
  Notes: fabulous wine and probably one of the best L'Arlot I've tasted. Very pretty fragrant and drinking quite perfectly now. This wine is subtle and elegant, with the perfect integration of strawberry and smoke. The inherent greenness of the vintage is still apparent in the wine but I would say that this is the kind of expression of Pinot Noir that I enjoy immensely. I did not expect a 04 L'Arlot to have this level of complexity and I'm absolutely loving it. The last time I had this was probably 10 years ago and it's now totally different in terms of complexity and completeness. As this is already showing plenty of signs of old Burgundy so I would say it's time to drink up now.

  Tasted with chilean seabass done in semi Chinese style, perfect fit for the wine, it is at the peak of it's life, perfect balance of tannin and fruit, medium bodied, elegant

  May 23, 2013 - 香氣的表現上有著頗為集中的紅色漿果香, 並帶有優雅的花香氣息, 酒體偏薄, 口感柔順且有著明顯的糖果香氣, 酸度頗為可口, 表現還算可以! 但美中不足的是很快就有走下坡的感覺~

  December 15, 2007 - Year end blindtasting: Deep red color. Farmyard nose and earthy red fruit. Red currant on the palate, nice intensity on the begining, but green and bitter on the finish. Nice length on the palate and fair tannin grip. Drinking quite well.

  September 20, 2007 - Seattle Burgundy Group Tasting #1 -- Nuits St. Georges (Seattle): Cola city, nose and mouth. After an hour, the aromas had an almost ripasso-like aspect. Crowd-pleaser.
  Jean-Pierre de Smet claims that 2004s will drink well young for their finesse and delicacy; that waiting for phenolic ripeness after leaf-thinning was essential; that had harvest not started on 28.09 after great September weather the vintage would've stunk; that he destemmed more than usual (60%); and that 2004 has the maturity of 2000 and the class of 1998 without the austerity, according to Alan Meadows, who bestowed 87-89 points.
