  July 6, 2023 - Part of a 9 syrah blind tasting. I wanted to love this more, as 2012 is my favorite vintage for Stonessence and a few other Reynvaan offerings. A solid effort, dark fruits, well balanced, well made wine but did not knock my socks off as I had expected from this winemaker and vintage. Maybe my palate was just worn out.

  October 31, 2021 - Held strong for 3-days. I really like this style from Matt Reynvaan. It provides a strong level of complexity while still be very clean and easy drinking in style. I lost my notes from early on, but day-3 is showing lots of bright cherry, smoke, violet, and spiced vanilla.

  September 4, 2021 - Decanted 1 hour. Very elegant with a rich texture. Some Rocks Funk, black cherry, iodine, white pepper, olive and grilled meat. Lovely wine that's drinking really well right now. Drink now - 2027.

  April 30, 2020 - Opened and decanted for 2 hours. This wine has an amazing mouth feel. Medium ruby in color, red fruits are predominant and it has a nice long finish. Did not have any funk as others suggested. This wine was lighter than expected and super delicious.
