February 10, 2024 - Extremely complex aroma with notes of stone fruit, brown sugar and orchard flowers. Crisp, electric flavor with amazing depth - sweet peach, stone fruit, citrus, brioche. Powerful, flavorful and interesting with excellent balance and poise. Leans candied and baked on the long, evolving finish. Insane mineral and chalk backbone.

Opened up beautifully with some air. This is clearly in the drinking window but no rush. All recent 2012s are drinking well now.

Top wine of 2024 so far. What else do you want? A+

February 19, 2022 - 100% Chardonnay from 61 year old vines in the Mont Aigu vineyard in Chouilly. Extra Brut at 4.5 g/l dosage. 5.5 atmospheres. 70% of Gimonnet's holdings are over 30 years old, of which some 40% are over 40 years old. 250 cases produced. Disgorged Oct. 2018. Medium yellow color at 10 years old. Notes of carmelized pear, brown sugar and apple notes. Creamy texture. Clean and precise finish. Excellent bottle. 96 points.

    January 22, 2022 - (Disgorged in Nov 2016, 100% Chardonnay from Montaigu in Chouilly, dosage 4 gr/L)
Light yellow colour with an almost greenish hue with a youthful nose showing marzipan, chalk, citrus, brioche and opens up with a lovely nuttiness in a very pleasant way. Nice and smooth citrus acidity in refreshing and youthful style and with a candied lemon touch on the vibrant and creamy finish.

July 31, 2021 - Big, powerful, and long on the finish. Moderate brioche, but the depth of the wine and the drive on the finish is remarkable. Exceptional.

    August 19, 2020 - 100% chardonnay. Disgorged 7/2017. Dosage 4g/L. 12.5% abv.

Very light straw golden with exuberant bubbles.
    Nose golden fruit, some brioche.
Palate Some vanilla. Golden fruit. Lemony.

Powerful but still a young pup; dense and needs time to show more definition, but good bones here from a favorable vintage. 92 pts with upside
