April 4, 2024 - Still drinkable and together but past peak, not "tired" by any means. For my palate, I wish that I had run into the bottle 3 years earlier! The old world grit and savoriness is evident.

March 23, 2024 - I am glad others enjoyed this wine. I thought it was undrinkable as did others at our dinner. A overly sweet red and not at all in a good way like a Porto. Nothing resembling a Pinot nor a Zin as others enjoyed. Not sure what to do with the remaining case of this I bought on a whim.

March 1, 2024 - Not sure what to make of this ... ripe, yet somewhat thin. Maybe an off bottle?

June 10, 2023 - Popped and poured a glass through a Vinturi. Alcohol (14.5) very prominent on first sip. After a half-hour, a little smoother. A glycerine feel. I've moved away from Zins over the years (that said, I've enjoyed some stellar Martinelli's); more on this bottle after a couple more encounters.
Two days later, a better look at the wine: old looking, with a red-orange meniscus and the body of the wine no bluer than deep vermilion. Looks aside, this is drinking better now, inviting a second pup (I refrained). Smooth, complex fruit flavors, but certainly mature.
A couple days later and it is really done: oxidized notes, cough medicine-y. Down the drain. Not a rebuy.

July 22, 2021 - Interesting wine. Drinking Zin for a good part of my life. And recognizing it’s profile on the palette. This Primitivo tastes exactly like a Zinfandel here in Cali.
Look light, but same flavor profile. Little old world in style, but this is Zin. I know the whole history of Zin and Primitivo and the Balkan origin background.
But never tasted Old World Primitivo.
Crazy how I can tell the differences between regions, styles and varietals in wine compared to five years ago. Cheers.
*3rd night drinking really nice. Needed that air. In harmony. Still a fruit forward, but Old World style refined but well defined cuvée. Worth a look at. Nice to see the Old World and New World expressions of the same varietal.
Melon to watermelon on palette on back note somewhat subtle. Couldn’t place it at first. It’s definitely there.
Acidity and fruit very nicely balanced.
