February 18, 2024 - Wow, this wine is good now and will only get better; After a short decant we could already tell this wine was special; It was tight, but we already got a preview of the delicious red fruit medley, with some black plum mixed in; With air the depth of this wine became more evident. Luckily I have a couple more bottles to hold on to because there is no doubt this wine is going to be great in 4-5 years.

If you open it now, definitely decant it ahead of time, but try it early to see how it evolves

October 1, 2023 - PnP, then followed over the evening and on day 2. A beautiful wine, nose with red fruit and some violets. Lifted, some redcurrant and spice. Medium bodied and transparent, although still a bit of skin structure and oak to resolve before it peaks. Clearly on the upswing, I should have listened to the notes saying to wait a bit longer ;)

The pepper and spice really come out on day 2. Cool wine, but I really don’t think that anyone is guessing Oakville based on the picking and blend and winemaking choices and well everything.

April 7, 2023 - Really good, different and interesting now. Quad decanted and waited an hour, then it started to soften up & open up. Unique dark fruit and tannic profile. Notes from the winery say: "field blend of Negrette, Petite Sirah, Mondeuse, Zinfandel, Carignan, Chenin Blanc and more." I would not have guessed!

Needs a few more years. Will likely deserve another point or 2 in roughly 2025-2027

November 23, 2022 - PNP, but definitely better after 30-60 minutes.

Delicious and beguiling. Aromatic nose - round red fruit rounded out by cedar and something floral. Leads with ripe bright cranberry, continues on to flavorful tannins (tea and bramble), and mellows into a long herbal finish.

Really nice bright intensity, elegant (medium) body, good balance, good complexity. One of the better expressions of old-vine field blends that I've had.

September 8, 2022 - Always one of the best offerings from Morgan. Thanks as the ‘16 does not disappoint
