December 30, 2023 - 95/5% blend. Tobacco, bacon and meaty and plenty of earth and ash. Red and savoury fruits on the palate medium body and depth, nice lick of sweet fruit to go with the savoury characters. Drink now on this one.

October 12, 2017 - Lovely Hunter Valley Shiraz, medium bottled, savoury leather fruit, a tad sweet but moreish neartheless. Well into drinking window the HV Shiraz are quite different in structure and fruit to the SA Shiraz and for my money infinitely preferable.

The nose is pretty funky, loads of leather and not a whiff of fruit, fortunately it tastes like a restrained hunter red with cranberry fruit, spice and some earthly complexity.

March 2, 2013 - A decent shiraz. Certainly has good fruit depth for the Hunter, helped and smoothed by the viognier. Some typical leather characteristics add to the blackberry and raspberry fruit. Touches of spice and herbs. The Terracotta always leaves me a bit underwhelmed.
