January 2, 2024 - A little disappointing. It was fine, but nothing special. Actually was much better on day 2

November 19, 2022 - Just a beautiful wine, consistent with my experience from earlier vintages. Inky, concentrated, and balanced. Decanted and enjoyed with smoked brisket, potato salad, coleslaw and ranch beans. The ripe black fruits, developing structure, and juicy style really complemented the food with the hickory barbecue sauce. This is a quality and very consistent producer; it’s ALWAYS a treat to see this show up as a “Garagiste Mystery” wine! 👍👍

November 6, 2022 - I don't drink wines in this style very often, so no score. Also, from memory, consumed nearly a week ago. Clearly of very high quality fruit and precise winemaking without any sense of gimmicks. No notes, but enjoyed moderate pours of this over several nights, mostly from Coravin. Inky with rich ripe black fruits, cassis, some cedar and pipe tobacco, chocolate. Tongue coating but not gloppy or extracted feeling, I could have had a couple of glasses over time and with the right food.

This seems sturdy without huge hurry, but no sense that it will see particular improvement.

Great wine to share with lovers of bigger, bolder domestic Cabs/Bordeaux blends.

    14.5% abv

This was a really solid mixed 6-pack "mystery" buy that came out to $20/bottle plus shipping.

September 3, 2022 - What a beauty this is. Firm and structured full body wine with integrated oak and fine tannins present. Dark red fruits with slight notes of chocolate and minerals. Medium finish.

Day two showed some warmth on the finish a bit more fruit than the previous night.

Overall, this wine was very impressive even more so with the Garagiste special.

August 3, 2022 - Dark, full bodied and smooth. Rich dark chocolate flavors with lengthy finish.
