Community Tasting Notes 7

March 3, 2024 - During a Matter of Taste dinner, no detailed tasting notes. From MAG. Still very young with clay, tar, rose petal, dense, oak well integrated and soft tannins. Medium complexity, may be this will increase with age.

August 21, 2022 - Opened 5 hours before. Then decanted three hours before. Still very slow to reveal itself. But once it does it is stellar. That startling mix of intensity and weightlessness. It needs food - for us summer truffle with pasta and aubergine parmigiana - better with the latter. The last glass was that extraordinary combination of porcini and a Scottish kelp forest. Give it air and give it food. It may gather weight over the next decade but it is no crime to enjoy it now.

March 15, 2022 - One of the best 2013 Barolos

January 6, 2022 - Under delivered and over priced. After an hour recant, No nose, middle high alcohol and finish was weak.

February 21, 2021 - Opened and decanted about 2 hours before drinking. Beautiful aromatics of cherry, tobacco leaf, whole star anise, and leather too. The palate is still pretty firm, though kept fleshing out with air. Firm cherry on the palate with a great mineral steak running all throughout. Very fresh and vibrant with a long, gripping finish. Happy to have some in the cellar and looking forward to following these over the years.
