December 4, 2023 - Medium red color with a brick rim. Complex aromas of forest floor, tobacco, roasted nuts, tar and pine sap. Beautifully concentrated red berry/currant/plum fruit fills the palate with hints of orange peel, black licorice, white pepper and Asian spices. Bristling acidity and powerful (but well balanced) tannins. Lovely freshness, richness and intensity. Simply amazing and classic! Can age for at least another decade. Fabulous!

August 19, 2023 - Decanted for about an hour. Lighter bodied, with red fruit tones, floral notes and a touch of licorice. This seems young and I think it will be come elegant in time. Peter’s bottle, at Catherines.

    November 20, 2021 - 2 hour decant

Very pretty nose with res fruit, rose petals, some first floor, and a touch of anise. Balanced palate with sweet but young tannin and long lush finish. Oddly open for business though may be closing down a bit. Very good wine

December 4, 2019 - Gaja White Truffle Dinner (Osteria Langhe - Chicago IL): Floral start with more modern style vs the older vintages just tasted, making me think this will soften and more classic charm will emerge. But still fun and almost fleshy with sneaky power on finish with good+ length. Easy to enjoy now, but surely better in a decade+.
