  January 4, 2005 - A blend of Cab Sauv and sangiovese. Out of the bottle, the nose reminded me of grape jelly. With a little more air, notes of dark fruit became present. I could detect a faint "sour cherry" note from the sangiovese. Not too complex, but a good amount of fruit for a wine at this pricepoint ($7). Good acidity, and a medium finish. 86-88 points.

From memory, the comments appear to be lifted from the back of the bottle. This is a cheap wine that lacks rough edges, but it also isn't all that exciting and certainly wasn't worthy of the WS rating. There are much more enjoyable wines in the price range.
