January 21, 2023 - Delicious, rich without being heavy. Plum, black cherry, herbs, dried mushroom

May 8, 2022 - I don't know what is more surprising: the alignment with wine mag ratings or just how damn spectacular this wine is! Bowl of cherries and cedar, smooth and elegant, but not a timid wine. THIS is what Pinot Noir is. Pretty much one of the best Pinots - American or Burgundy - we've ever had. Entering drinking window if you can give it enough air.

HERE IS A HINT TO GET THE BEST OUT OF YOUNGER WINES LIKE THIS:
For years, I've read reviews and posted many of my own that say something like "...wine was even better the second night...". With apologies to those who don't know what leftover wine is, we opened this the day before Mother's Day, let it breathe a couple hours, re-corked it without drinking any and served it the next day, Today. I really think if you have a red wine that is on the fence of being drink now versus "hold", opening it the day before and serving the next day may be a good plan. Of course, this won't work for those of us who don't always plan ahead...but if you can...

December 4, 2021 - Soft cherry on the nose, with cherry and raspberry on the palate. Full-bodied and rich. Ready now.

November 17, 2018 - Winebar [4 Whites, 8 Reds, & 4 *shared* bottles] from 11/16/18] (Vintage Wines Ltd., San Diego, CA): 646 cs made

N: Fragrantly, typically RIPE frt (straws?) for this AVA

P: Med, poss LM, body; NICE, almost swtish frt met by a puckerish astringency which transitions into a LONG finish with a bitter/swtness (70:30) to the very, VERY fine tannins. NEEDS through '19 (poss longer) to HOPEFULLY lose the bitterness. 14.7% ABV; My VG+, with more poss IF cellaring improves it. 93-95 pts Jeb Dunnuck, 93 WE @ $54, & 92 WS. [This vendor's $46.95 puts it in the top 15% of wine-searcher's postings.]

October 20, 2018 - This is evolving nicely and still is a veritable baby. It provides red berries, some red fruit- raspberries and red cherry notes. It has beautiful weight and structure that provides this wine elegance and lift, but the fruit is still primary. I think this will continue to integrate and improve and think it will really sing in a couple of years. A bit of underlying spice makes this increase in complexity and interest.
