  July 2, 2023 - One hour decant. Deep dark ruby magenta color. Blackberry, boysenberry, dark chocolate ganache, yellow cake, licorice, and subtle sautéed mushroom. Dry, satiny palate. Firm, full, medium intensity tannins on the longish finish.

  June 25, 2023 - Decanted a portion with stir and it opened up over about an hour. Same on day 3. Otherwise, pretty much same as prior note. Very solid QPR for this plush style of cabernet, with perhaps a bit more licorice on the palate.

  January 26, 2023 - One hour slow ox. Deep dark electric magenta color. Very chocolatey mocha, fresh raspberry thumbprint cookie, and peony. Plush, tongue drying palate. Full, round tannins on the longish finish. This is like Double Diamond, but with more gravitas.

  December 11, 2022 - Nose shows a strong oak aromas with some turpentine but there's less to it than expected. Black cherry, tart red fruit, mocha, rich chocolate, and chicory notes on the coarse-textured palate. Firm tannins, chewy oak, dark fruit, and leather on the finish. Perhaps a little more time in the bottle would help smooth it out a bit.

  December 5, 2022 - 90 min decant (only needs 30). Deep dark ruby magenta color. Blackberry cobbler, truffle dust, baker’s chocolate, and violet on the nose. Very smooth, dry palate. Firm tannins on the longish finish. So reliable and well built for the money.
