September 12, 2021 - A little oakier than I recall, particularly on the first day. The second day revealed a more earthy and interesting wine. Excellent acid.

December 28, 2020 - Serious wine here. Some might call this 'scratchy' Syarh, as it is in the traditional style. Eucalyptus notes show throughout, as do pepper, herbs, tobacco, and black rock minerality. And, at 13 abv, featuring medium plus acid, and judicious oak treatment, if tasting blind, I would lean heavily to the north Rhone. Very interesting, highly enjoyable. 92-93.

December 21, 2020 - Well priced Shiraz very smooth. Not tannic

December 1, 2020 - Among the most reserved and piercing Australian Shiraz offerings that I have crossed paths with. If blind, I would have placed this in France, or perhaps Walla Walla. Medium plus acid, energetic finish.

May 12, 2019 - This is a little stemmy and earthy, which is funny as they apparently de-stem for this wine. Maybe it's the reduction, but it's nowhere near as reductive and tight-knit as their traditional shiraz bottling. Much more present is the bright and fairly aromatic tart fruit, like a simple but tasty version of popular new world, cool climate, natural Syrah, such as Arnot roberts or some Pax bottles. It's not incredibly intense or complex as some of these are, more of a brief introduction to the style; but it successfully combines that blackberry/raspberry tart pastry quality with a touch of earthy nuance, and is a food wine for sure.

I think the average listed price of $25 is a little high though, even if it's very tasty and fresh- it's just a little too simple and one-dimensional. I got it for $15 at the LA wine house, which is more than fair.
