  August 9, 2016 - Beautiful, youthful color at 13 years old! Uncomplicated but rich and appealing nose made me think of baked rhubarb pie. Silky fore-palate, almost merlot-like in its softness, with beautifully balanced acidity. And a pretty good finish, with a licorice-like depth of flavor. This is drinking really beautifully right now. It will last but I'm not expecting it to improve markedly.

  January 31, 2008 - Opaque purple with slight garnet at the rim. Powerful nose of buttered porpcorn from distance, lots of mud and fruit closer up. Tar and blackcurrant in the base aromas. Really smells more like food than liquid. Tannins are medium-big and plush cherry& strawberry flavors begin rushing through the acidity. New world extraction (maybe over the top for some) but it's still putting forth a great effort at elegance. Just seems to miss the superstar mark in body - which could be larger given the fruitiness. Over a minute and it's still talking on the palate. More than acceptable at $30 for a wonderful Cali Cab. (5+13+16+8) = 92

  January 19, 2008 - HUGE TANNINS. Out of the bottle it was like sucking on a blackboard eraser. Decanted for an hour and much more balanced. Overall, a great Cali Cab, powerful and silky mouthfeel. Really enjoyed this and will look to pick up some additional bottles.
