Community Tasting Notes 10

September 5, 2021 - Yvelin's birthday; 9/5/2021-9/6/2021: Even better than the bottle last year. Think we went to Italy on this one immediately, some earthiness and sweet red fruit. Excellent acidity and showed fresher than the bottle last year.

February 16, 2021 - It is a dead ringer for a modern Nebbiolo with roses and tar on the nose. Beautiful balance and tension on the palate. It was my last bottle out of four. A steal at around USD 55. Wish I had more as it still has a lot of life left.

August 13, 2020 - Cork disintegrated and colour was worryingly bricked. Thankfully the wine was still full of life - very pretty nose of rose petals, high acidity and tannin made me think Nebbiolo at first. Made in a modern style, aged 24 months in small barriques, this had soft and supple tannins. A decent amount of fruit left, mainly cherries and blueberries. Tired towards the end but a very good showing for a 20 year old Barbera.

February 16, 2014 - Garnet color in the glass. Nose of red & black fruit. On the palate, strawberry or blackberry preserves. Med tannnins, med acidity. Well integrated and well balanced. I think this is at the peak, drink up!

September 9, 2013 - Fully mature and integrated. Dark fruits on the nose and palate, medium mouthfeel, soft tannins. Medium finish. It is drinking very well now, I doubt it will improve further with more age.
